  • Micron Technology MU stock is up nearly 6% in addition to Monday's 10.5% jump, after Nvidia CEO Huang mentioned that Micron was providing memory for Nvidia's graphics processing units.

  • Online used-car retailer Carvana CVNA shares are up 4% after its rating got lifted from sector perform to outperform.

  • Getty Images GETY soared 91% in premarket after the company said it plans to merge with rival stock photography service Shuttershock SSTK stock rose 37%.

  • Software company Palantir Technologies PLTR is down 1.1% in premarket after a Morgan Stanley set a price target of $60, implying downside of about 21%.

The Nasdaq Stock Market, or simply Nasdaq, is the second-largest stock exchange in the world. Nasdaq was initially an acronym, NASDAQ, which stands for the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations.

It became the world's first electronic stock market.The Nasdaq has become the largest global exchange to rely solely on electronic trading.

It lists shares of more than 3,000 large world companies. In part because of the way the Nasdaq has embraced technological innovation in its trading platform, the stock exchange has attracted many of the world's leading companies in technology, as well as companies in other cutting-edge industries like biotechnology.
