The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve is here and it disappointed most crypto fans - no new Bitcoin shall be bought by the government just yet.
As White House crypto czar, billionaire David Sacks, explained it the Reserve will be capitalized with bitcoin owned by the federal government that was seized as part of criminal or civil asset forfeiture proceedings.
The order kept open the possibility of the government buying bitcoin in future. The U.S. commerce and treasury secretaries "are authorized to develop budget-neutral strategies for acquiring additional bitcoin, provided that those strategies impose no incremental costs on American taxpayers," a factsheet on the White House website said.
Baby steps are better than complete ban, don’t you think? Give it a quick thought…the US President is holding a summit and discussing CRYPTO, y’all!!! 2025…US and CRYPTO….something that was created out of thin air, did not mean a thing, i.e. had no intrinsic value and in time started carrying monetary weight just because, we the people, said so!!! This is bananas…
