Up North in Canada Mike Carney, a former central bank governor with solid experience handling economic crisis, will take the helm as the new Prime Minister after Justin Trudeau.

Recession fears are gripping US market sentiments tighter and tighter as investors are buying more VIX call options and S&P500 index put options(meaning they think the market will crash).

Meanwhile Bitcoin proponents Samson Mow and Michael Saylor put a bold prediction out there that Bitcoin will reach $1 million.

The stock market remains in the red zone, as trade tariff tensions continue to impact global economic activity, which in turn drags crypto into negative territory.

Trump signed an executive order authorizing the creation of a digital asset stockpile and a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve last week. He also hosted the first-ever White House Crypto Summit, featuring numerous key figures in the crypto industry.

Although the Reserve was established, no actual budget was allocated for future Bitcoin purchases in the near future (meanwhile, El Salvador just purchased 5 more Bitcoins, taking full advantage of the recent price dip).

Bitcoin has dipped 4.8% to $18,729, while Ethereum is down 8%, hovering just above November 2023 prices near $2,000. Dogecoin leads losses among the top 10 cryptos, down about 13% to $0.16.
